![]() ![]() Since I am a huge Annoholic you can imagine that I can totally get why you ask this question. Even though they are old, there are non-sci-fi Anno's and newer sci-fi Anno's and both can be something you might enjoy or might hate (who knows) Tropico you already know, and in Anno you have campaign missions and building restrictions, enemies, and "complex" ressource cycles and ware management. In your case, Tropico, Anno are the possible better choices. And you should not feel bad for skipping it and Sim City AND Cities XL style games either. But if you want story, characters, plot and defined progression with challenges and different scenarios then this game is not for you. It does what it wants to do (sim building a city) pretty well and this can be fun for a great many hours for the sole reason that nobody until C:S did it quite this well. It has not a defined setting and personality. C:S is a super polished near perfect sandbox pure and simple, if you don't enjoy building without (higher) goal aside from unlocking all the buildings and reaching population milestones (up to a point) you are gonna *hate* this game after your first "full blown" city or once you reach the object limit (which can easily take you 60 to 120 hours and it's not like that time isn't fun.). ![]()
